New Equipment Delivered To Help Save Lives

Surf Life Saving Clubs around the State have added some powerful weapons to their front line fight to keep our beaches safe. A major initiative by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) and Surf Life Saving Western Australia (SLSWA) will deliver a new fully equipped All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) and Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) to every Surf Life Saving Club in the State over the next three years.
“Both the ATV’s and IRB’s are crucial pieces of lifesaving equipment for our frontline surf lifesavers,” said Surf Life Saving Western Australia Chief Executive Officer, Paul Andrew.

“We are very grateful for the magnificent support we get from DFES and the acknowledgement of the value that this equipment has for our surf lifesavers.”

“They have always been strong supporters of Surf Life Saving Western Australia, but this new initiative will have a major impact on our lifesaving services from Esperance in our far south, right through to Broome in the Kimberley,” said Andrew.

For Dalyellup Beach Surf Life Saving Club, the new ATV could not have arrived at a better time.

“Patrol Members are now able to access the all of the beach area quickly, enabling Surf Live Savers to respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations.” Jenaya Bell.
